Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) are government run training institutes that offer training in various technical streams.

ITI was established by Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labor & Employment, Government of India. The sole aim of an ITI training institute is to provide technical manpower to the fast emerging industrial sector of the developed and the developing economy.

ITI provides technical knowledge or industrial training in various trades. ITI courses include both engineering and non-engineering programs. ITI courses are meant for candidates who have at least passed their 5th std examinations and who wish to acquire some technical knowledge instead of going for conventional higher studies.
